Curious Frame is looking for contemporary photography that is unique, conveys ideas, stimulates thought and encourages interpretation.
Your project could fit into the genres of street, documentary, editorial, self-portraiture, abstract, experimental, conceptual, or not easily fit into traditional photographic genres. Work that explores new concepts or techniques, that engages us, that pushes the boundaries of photography and that makes us ask questions is of particular interest. You can be an established name or relatively unknown - it's your work and vision that matter most.
If you would like your work to be considered for publication, please complete the form below. Please also see the information that follows the form which will fill you in on the next steps including what will be required from you should we agree to publish your project.
What happens next?
We will review your submission and notify you of our decision as soon as possible. We will notify you either way as we think that's good manners.
If we decide that we would like to feature your project, we will notify you of the final date that we will require your pictures and project statement by. It is important that you submit these to us by this date.
When editing an issue, we may decide that your project would fit better in another issue. If this happens, we will let you know.
What we will need from you:
Your project statement including any links to your website and social media you would like included.
Your images saved as JPG at a quality (compression) of 65-70% and 1500 pixels wide (height will be whatever it comes out as to maintain the aspect ratio).
These can be uploaded to Google Drive or Dropbox, from where you can share the link to download the files with us. Alternatively you can use a service like WeTransfer. If you are technologically challenged please reach out to us and we can look at making alternative arrangements for receiving your work.
Although Curious Frame is a digital-first publication, we wish to maintain the quality and integrity of the publication for future readers. As such, once an issue is published we will not edit or remove the project with the exception of editing the links to your website or social media should those change. If they ever change, please contact us with the updated information.
Already published and want to submit a new project?
If in the future you have a new project that you would like to submit for consideration, please feel free to do so. We will be trying to not feature the same photographer too frequently, so please leave 5 to 6 months between submissions.
